Note From Father Joe

 

        We might look at our Church, our Parish, through five images:

         SACRED HEART is becoming a COMMUNITY that shares and really cares about each person, young and old, rich and poor.

         SACRED HEART is becoming PROCLAIMER, an announcer, a teacher of the Good News of Jesus. Sacred Heart should speak for Christ, applying his teaching to modern life.

         SACRED HEART is becoming a SERVANT, bringing a helping and caring hand to everyone. Jesus came not to be served but to serve.

         SACRED HEART is becoming a SIGN OF JESUS in the Lakewood area showing the face of Jesus to our neighborhood by our prayers and kindness. When People see our parishioners they should see a bit of Jesus.

         SACRED HEART is becoming an INSTITUTION helping every parishioner to be part of a community, to proclaim the Gospel, to serve, and to be a sign of Jesus.

       

 Every parishioner of Sacred Heart is loved by God, is very important person in God’s eyes, is the hands of God in our world today, and is called by God to use his or her talents to serve Him and each of our neighbors.

         We thank God for all our blessing. We thank God for the faith-filled and caring parishioners, religious, and priests who have helped to make Sacred Heart a people of God . We pray that God the Father will pour out the gifts of the Holy Spirit will continue to work in our parish and in our community through the hearts and hands of each one of us. We ask this through Jesus Christ Your Son.
